Our Design and Development Process

The website design and development process involves strategic planning and implementation to pull your new website together.  Business branding, your goals and target audience all help to shape your custom website.  

Step 1. Research and Discovery

The first step in the design process is to gather information.  This tends to be the most important step because it involves us getting to know your business and you, who your target audience is, learning what your goals are for your website, and what message you want to convey to your audience.

This step includes gathering all the content for your website. Content is provided by the client. If you are unsure of where to start with content creation, we do provide consulting services to help guide you through how to come up with or find content for your industry.  Content also includes images, such as product images and photos placed throughout your website. 

Step 2. Planning

Once we have gathered some content for your website, we now put together a plan for your website.  During this phase it is important that we keep your end user in mind when creating the site map.  It is key that we gear the site and navigation towards the end user.

During this phase we will also offer suggestions as to what should or should not be included in the design. Not only will we keep the end user in mind, we will also design the website so that it will help with SEO, page speed and anything that will affect the conversion and bounce rates.

Step 3. Design & Development

Using the plan we have created, we will begin to design and program your website.  We DO NOT use a template and then plug in your information.  We start with a highly-rated and reputable WordPress Theme as a foundation and customize the entire theme.

Designing a website properly involves an understanding of HTML5, CSS and PHP, that complies to current web standards, know how to create responsive design, and knowing how to properly structure the website for SEO.

Step 4. Testing

After the website has been finalized, we begin testing its functionality.  We make sure all the forms and scripts work, as well as test for compatibility issues, which involves viewing the site on different browsers and devices, ensuring it is optimized to view properly on different size devices.

Delivery & Deployment

Once we receive final approval, we will make the website live!  All of our website packages come with one month of support and maintenance from go live date.  Once the one month has concluded, you have the option to allow us to continue to support and manage your website for a monthly fee.  Please read more about our management services.

We provide hosting for all of our WordPress website clients.  Once the website goes live there is a monthly hosting fee. However, if you decide to go with a different hosting company, we will gladly work with any hosting provider of your choice, or we can provide you with a few of our preferences as well.
